Babies and Toddlers - Bottle Feeding or Breast Feeding ?
Should I commence with bottle feeding? or is breast best?
It is customary to have decided in advance whether you wish to breast feed or bottle feed your baby. Although for some mothers who may have chosen to breast feed, it may be that they start to experience difficulties in doing so. It is therefore important to be clued up, beforehand, on both types of feeding for the newborn child. Majority of experts recommend breast feeding for the first six months of a baby’s life - although it is not uncommon for longer lengths of time for breast feeding offspring. And there is certainly no hard and fast rule for terminating breast feeding. Babies and toddlers, and sometimes even children of older years, feel more secure and bonded from the experience. Feeding from the lactating mother is considered to keep down the likelihood of diseases, allergies, pneumonia and many other disorders. But whether you are breast feeding or bottle feeding, you will need to gradually introduce other nourishing foods into the baby's daily diet. These are generally known as ‘baby solids’.
Baby's solid food diet will need to be increased in amounts, as well as in types, throughout the baby’s development.
Experienced baby experts give advice to new Mums on weaning babies - and all this entails. Some new Mums have problems producing milk.
If you have any uncertainty regarding the right time, and/or appropriate types of solid foods for starters, have a chat with a specialist person – in order to ascertain the best time to gently introduce solid foods to your baby. They will also advise if you require any pointers regarding overfeeding or underfeeding your baby.
Never hesitate to consult the baby specialists about baby feeding matters - nor any other matters relating to your baby. They are always prepared to listen and advise.
