Babies and Toddlers - Cuddling and Wrapping BabyYour offspring will demand your attentions whenever they feel the need to do so – often in the form of crying. Generally speaking, crying in itself is not something to have concerns about. With young babies, this usually means that he/she is hungry and requires feeding. It could mean that he/she has a soiled diaper/nappy and would like it changing, or he/she requires winding. Always ensure that the clothes are not too tight and affecting them in some way. Sometimes wrapping them snugly in a swaddling blanket helps to soothe them – but other babies appear to dislike being wrapped. Seemingly, very often, the baby is just awake and not knowing what else to do other than cry. Give your baby as many cuddles as time will allow during crying – and consider a baby sling if the baby requires many attentions. Discuss with other mothers and experts the pros and cons of thumb sucking and dummies.
