Babies and Toddlers - Baby Comprehension and Knowledge

As a baby progresses into the toddler stage, he/she will constantly further expand his/her comprehension and knowledge. The likes of building bricks, wooden jigsaws, or anything you consider to be safe, - and appropriate for their particular stage of development, - should always be made available.
Different babies develop basic skills at different times throughout their development. There are certain "rules of thumb" which dictate the likely times to expect a certain development, such as learning to stand, or learning to walk. These are only guidelines from averages. So it is silly to worry if your baby or toddler hasn't quite mastered a skill which is customary for age.
Also and obviously, a premature baby will likely be later in skills development.
Always remember safety. Never forget the cuddles. And don’t ever hesitate to contact the experts, or emergency services, if you have any concerns, - however seemingly small.
