Childrens Parties
Q. What considerations are required – in order to achieve successful childrens parties?
A. Successful childrens parties will need to have a great appeal for every child in attendance at the party, - a roly-poly mixture of good, old-fashioned fun and childrens party games - or putting a preconceived idea into practice.
Examples of a pre-conceived ideas for kids parties:
Take the kids to the cinema.
Take the kids to see a show.
Take the kids bowling.
Take the kids to the zoo.
Take the kids to a museum.
Take the kids to the seaside.
Take the kids to the fairground.
Take the kids on a boating trip.
After the decided activity has taken place, it is customary for the children to have a bite to eat. This can either take place within your own home – or in a nearby appropriate establishment. There are numerous eateries that cater especially for children parties.
Many children love the outdoors – and weather permitting, organized games can be held in a park followed by a picnic. This is not expensive but if thought out well in advance, can be lots of fun.
A general ‘rule of thumb’ for basic general requirements for childrens birthday parties within a household are:
party invitations, party bags, cake with candles, and of course, food and drinks – and straws, + all the necessaries to decorate the table including table cloth, eating utensils (unless it is a finger buffet), plates and dishes and party table napkins. You will also require necessary serving plates and dishes and serving utensils, and a knife to cut the birthday cake and something to light the candles (kept out of harm’s way) + anything appropriate to decorate the room, and background music - to give it a party atmosphere. Several party games will be required to be thought up, and listed, for example:
Pass the Parcel and Musical Chairs. And all preparations for any of the games will require sorting in advance of the event. You may wish to invite a children’s entertainer such as a clown or childrens magician or a balloon modeller.
For all other types of childrens house parties, everything mentioned above is appropriate – minus the information regarding the birthday cake.
Many parents nowadays are opting for a themed party. The theme for the child’s birthday, or another special occasion, often evolves around the child’s particular interest, for example trains, marine life, football or outer space. But it doesn’t need to involve a child’s special interest. Many parties have a broader theme, such as the circus, wild cats or pirates – or witches and warlocks if your child is having a Halloween Party.
Whether your child’s party is to take place at home or within an establishment catering for such events, you generally have the option of choosing whether to organize the party yourself, or whether to involve the specialists.
If the budget can run to a specialist, we strongly urge you to contact such a business specializing in this line of things. It enables parents to enjoy the day as much as the child and ensures that nothing has been overlooked. Also, the childrens party organizers can often provide “little touches” previously never even dreamed of – which can make your child’s party just that little bit more special.
