Childrens Section Part 10Allow your child to have a certain ‘say’ in the outfits which he/she wishes to wear, and the accessories which appeal to him/her. Obviously, a young one cannot have all the ‘say’. You have to ‘own’ your son/daughter – and need to feel comfortable with his/her appearance. And very often, the cost of childrens clothing can affect what you would like your child to wear - and what you can afford for your child to wear. There’s very often a need for compromise. Make every endeavour NOT to get angry if children have accidents in respect of their clothing e.g. spilling a drink down a designer tee-shirt, tearing a new pair of jeans when playing with friends - or just generally getting dirty because they weren’t thinking about keeping themselves clean when they were having so much fun. Realise that they have not done anything naughty or deliberately. They did not mean to do this -and the situation should be treated in as light a manner as possible.
