Even in a family where money is plentiful, never fall into the trap of thinking that a child will love you more by regularly showering them with gifts. This is counter-productive – and often results in what is usually referred to as “a spoiled brat”. The child will come to appreciate your presents more than he/she appreciates you as a parent.
