Teenagers and Religious MattersIf religion plays a big part within your household, - your son/daughter may start to rebel against your ideas as he/she enters the teenage years. Your religious concerns, and what matters to you personally in a spiritual way, is your privileged belief. If there is discord in beliefs, it is often best initially to have a group discussion – allowing everyone present several minutes to make their particular point. If nothing is resolved at the family meeting, between parents and their teenage son/daughter, the parent may choose to discuss their concerns with their local religious leader. Although having the same faith can help to keep a family harmonious, many families exist very happily - where different family members, including teenagers, select to follow a faith which is not the same as their parents' faith. Where there is nothing considered to be untoward in a chosen religion, religious tolerance is the key to happiness for many family units. Relgious views are very personal and precious to each individual.
