Teenage Employment - Part-time and Temping
Many teenagers would probably much prefer to spend every hour of their leisure time wasting away the hours. This is not healthy and not necessary. With or without a parent’s ‘push’, teenagers should be attempting to use at least a few of these hours, especially during school holidays, to occupy their time with a job.
Part-time paid jobs give teenagers the opportunity to buy some little luxuries for themselves. Some holiday companies may offer temporary employment to teenagers. This is often just to cover for staff absences over the Summer holiday period.
In order to 'be ahead of the game', try phoning and writing to companies in advance of any mention of job availabilities.
Places of entertainment sometimes require temporary staff cover - as well as supermarkets and offices. In fact, many businesses require workers on occasional bases. It's often a case of being lucky - and just 'getting in there' first. More usually, it's not just all about luck but much more to do with determination. Part-time vacancies for teenagers can be very varied. It may be well worth while to request suggestions from friends and family members.
Teenagers 'handy' on a computer, and who may also have a good command of punctuation and grammar, may be lucky finding part-time jobs within an internet company, doing web designing and/or script writing or proof reading for websites.
Many jobs can be performed externally from the company premises. This can apply to various jobs including packaging of parcels and envelopes. It can particularly apply to work with computer involvements. Working on computers in home premises has now become quite the norm for many people.
Re : Teenage voluntary work.
Working for charities, or other good causes, can be massively rewarding for a feel-good factor. Many charities and societies will be pleased to supply information regarding teenage voluntary workers.
