Teens Views and Opinions

Always remember that teenagers are persons in their own right. YOUR views, as parents, may not turn out to be an exact match of THEIR views. Very few people have exactly the same views and it is only fair not to expect others to have to precisely match your views, and this should include one's own children, especially as they may develop very strong opinions and views in their teenage years. Both the parents, and their teenage son/daughter, need every opportunity to put their points across – and must always be prepared to listen to each other’s responses. By doing precisely this, it helps to retain respect for both generations. It also has a distinctly helpful factor towards a continuing and good relationship between parents and offspring. Family members who regularly and clearly air views and opinions, without feeling any necessity for raised voices and/or 'attitude', are usually pleased that they have adopted this way of living their daily lives. Differences of opinions should not need to be argued over.
