Teenage Parties

Teenage parties are generally a completely “different ball game” to any of their previous parties. In fact, it is quite customary for parents to have no involvements whatsoever - in the organizational side of things for a teenage event. Teenagers may like to be completely absorbed in their teenage party arrangements themselves. This, especially, relates to the older ones in this age bracket.

Most of these events are likely to coincide with the date of their birthday.

For any teenage party, certain criteria needs to be established in advance by the parents – especially if a house party is to develop into a reality for your teenager.

For the older age range of teens, - teenage house parties are often left unsupervised. This can be a very scary thought for many parents. Guidelines and rules will, almost certainly, need to be issued by the adults – and the teenager will need to reassure his/her parents that he/she will be following all the house rules during his/her party.

Certainly, with regards to the thirteen to sixteen year old age group, - good supervision will still be required during the hours of the party event.

But whether your son/daughter has just reached his/her teens, or whether he/she will be saying “goodbye” to the teenage years shortly, - sensible ground rules should always be agreed on in advance of a teenage party date.

Parties for teenagers are no longer likely to include such entertainers as clowns and magicians. Instead, there may be a preference to book a famous impersonator (and sometimes, these are booked secretly by the parents - to appear as a surprise on the party day or party night).

Celebrity impersonators are becoming very popular for all types of parties. Lookalikes, and soundalikes, are plentiful all around the planet – and there are thousands of Agencies which specialize in supplying the “copycats”. Among some of the more popular celebrity individuals - are Elvis impersonators, Marilyn Monroe impersonators, Prince Charles impersonators and Elton John impersonators – although these particular entertainers are generally favoured by older generations. More usually, younger persons will prefer to be “in the presence” of such people as Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson and Peter Kay - or younger individuals and/or bands which are in vogue at their party time.

Lookalike and soundalike bands, generally referred to as tribute bands, have become very popular – especially Beatles tribute bands.

For continuous music throughout a party, - a DJ is often employed. Alternatively, music can be supplied by live musicians and/or vocalists. Many vocalists sing to background music being supplied by a CD.

For the ultimate party experience, there is nothing to compare to “the real thing”, i.e. actual famous performing artists such as musicians, vocalists and comedians. There is more than a likelihood that you will need to thinking: “megabucks”.

With a younger teenager, there are often still the same options open to the parents - as when their son/daughter was a young child. Apart from the consideration of a teenage home party, younger teenagers may still appreciate such things as a visit to the cinema or a show - or going 10-pin bowling. And after the organized activity, it is customary for the guests to finish off the day with refreshments. Quite often, the same venue has restaurant facilities – and many restaurants and other eateries will provide something extra special before, or during, a meal – which helps to celebrate a person’s special occasion. Many eating establishments will provide such things as a birthday cake, balloons and a suitable gift for each teenager to take home with them. Obviously, they will need to be informed in advance of the birthday meal.

Parental organization, and supervision, will become a thing of the past as your teenager approaches adulthood. But whether you still have involvements in the event or not, - there are scores of brilliant teenage party organizers who help to relieve much of the stress - and can often provide some great and innovative ideas regarding parties for teenagers.
